Two handbags and a jacket

I made some stuff this weekend: a couple handbags and a leather jacket. I have two trips coming up - one to Maui and another to Santa Fe - and trips call for new duds. The patterned bag above (and below) is a heavy home-dec fabric. I love how graphical the pattern is. I used the free bag pattern in the post I referenced below. Easy peasy.
I also attached a charm to the front (see that little silver flower?)

This is the back, although really, I don't suppose it matters much.
I always put a length of elastic in the bags--sewn into the linings--to attach to key rings and wallets. So much easier to find my keys than digging around in the depths of the bag, and of course, if I didn't put in a zipper (or a wallet Lo-Jack), it's great peace of mind to attach my wallet to one of these elastics.

Above is the pleat and waist seam on the back of the leather jacket I made. (I used the same modified Butterick 5145 I've been using lately. I still need to take in the shoulders.)
Below is the top front.

Below is the purple lining of the leather bag I made.
More elastic thongs, and a little hand charm I attached to the thong.
The zipper went in better than I had any right to expect; to celebrate, I popped a B charm on it.
All in all, a productive weekend.
